V rámci 2. semestra ŠTC 2023 sa študenti mohli zamerať na IoT alebo programovanie. Jedným zo študentov, ktorý si vybral IoT, bol Tomáš Bujňák, ktorý vytvoril cloudové riešenie pre zvýšenie bezpečnosti v motoršporte pomocou programovacieho jazyka Python a Power BI.
Jedná sa o spojenie rôznych situácií na pretekárskej trati, ako napríklad zelená vlajka, žltá vlajka, výjazd bezpečnostného vozidla a ďalšie. Zobrazenie v Power BI poskytuje najpotrebnejšie informácie pre pretekárov a inžinierov za boxovým múrom. Pretekár má teda rýchly prístup k dôležitým informáciám pre zvýšenie bezpečnosti, napríklad v prípade nehody dostane okamžite informáciu, v ktorej zákrute, na ktorej strane a k akému typu nehody došlo. Tieto informácie pomáhajú pretekárovi rýchlejšie zareagovať na vzniknuté situácie. Inžinieri majú prístup k väčšiemu množstvu dát pre analýzu a aj pre sprostredkovanie informácií pretekárovi, ktoré by ho v kokpite zbytočne rozptyľovali.
Samotné IoT zariadenie taktiež dokáže simulovať haváriu, pričom simulované hodnoty životných funkcií pretekára a silu preťaženia, ku ktorej pri nehode došlo, okamžite posiela tímu medikov a inžinierom. Výhodou tohto riešenia nie je len úspora času a zvýšenie bezpečnosti, ale aj fakt, že takéto fyzické zariadenie by mohlo byť dostupné aj pre nižšie závodné série.
